My second full length original album and also my most successful album so far. Released on February 26, 2013, The ILL Standard showcases the accumulation of 10 LONG YEARS of successes and failures that I have faced since I started rapping at age 16. I'm now 26 years old and feel as though I should have won 10 grammys, live in my own nice house, have a nice car, a beautiful wife, and be one of the top names in Rap music. Truth is my story is much more humbling than that. I've grown to understand it's not about the things I don't have because the reality is that I've gained so much more that could never be taken from me. Yes it's true I would much rather live a life where I was making a living where my job is just to be an artist but bills have to be paid and dreams cost. I came up with the concept for The ILL Standard a few months before I had graduated from Carbondale. I really had no intention of making this album at first but the idea just stuck with me and the whole use of the word "SICK" to describe things in a positive way caught on to how some people would describe my style. I was also on my Nas phase where I was listening to his albums cause his new CD was about to drop at the time. His first album called "ILLmatic" is still one of my all time favorites of his so I decided to tell my own story about the ills in my life and what ill means to me. This is the album that sets a standard about who I am and the dream I keep fighting for .
